1. Introduction

1) Drum-shaped teeth coupling for drum is a new type of flexible coupling, which is mainly used to connect the output shaft of the reducer of lifting mechanism with the steel wire rope drum in lifting equipment. It is also suitable for other similar mechanical equipment which can transfer both torque and radial load, but it can not be used as a transmission that needs to bear axial load.

2) The working temperature of drum gear coupling for drum is -25 ~+80 degree C; the nominal transfer torque is 16-560 kN.m; and the allowable radial load is 18-355 KN.

3) Compared with other drum couplings, drum gear couplings for drums have the following characteristics:

It works stably and reliably, can withstand large radial load and transfer large torque, and has large overload capacity.

Compact and firm structure, serialized design, can simplify the structure of the whole machine, reduce the weight of equipment.

Good alignment performance, easy installation and adjustment, simple maintenance.

With location wear indication, it is safe and reliable.

It can be equipped with ordinary axle extension reducer to reduce equipment cost.

2. Structural Characteristics and Working Principles

1) The drum gear coupling for drum is composed of outer gear sleeve with drum teeth, outer gear sleeve with connecting flange and inner gear ring, bearing ring with outer spherical surface, end cover and sealing ring, and is equipped with locating wear pointer, lubricating oil hole and air hole.

2) Drum-shaped gear coupling composed of outer gear sleeve and outer sleeve transmits driving power, while contact pairs formed by outer spherical surface of bearing ring and inner bearing surface of outer sleeve form spherical bearing with automatic alignment, which bears radial load.

3) The inner and outer teeth of the coupling engage in the oil bath to prevent grease leakage through the inner and outer end caps and sealing rings.
